82:1

Ein Psalm Asaphs. Gott steht in der Gemeinde Gottes und ist Richter unter den Göttern.

A Psalm of Asaph. God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods:

82:2

Wie lange wollt ihr unrecht richten und die Person der Gottlosen vorziehen? (Sela.)

“How long will you judge and show partiality to the wicked? Selah

82:3

Schaffet Recht dem Armen und dem Waisen und helfet dem Elenden und Dürftigen zum Recht.

Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed.

82:4

Errettet den Geringen und Armen und erlöset ihn aus der Gottlosen Gewalt.

Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.

82:5

Aber sie lassen sich nicht sagen und achten's nicht; sie gehen immer hin im Finstern; darum müssen alle Grundfesten des Landes wanken.

They do not know or understand; they wander in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

82:6

Ich habe wohl gesagt: „Ihr seid Götter und allzumal Kinder des Höchsten”;

I have said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons .’

82:7

aber ihr werdet sterben wie Menschen und wie ein Tyrann zugrunde gehen.

But like mortals you will die, and like rulers you will fall.”

82:8

Gott, mache dich auf und richte den Erdboden; denn du bist Erbherr über alle Heiden!

Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.
