Parallel

Psalms 56

Louis Segond 1910 · Berean Standard Bible

Au chef des chantres. Sur “Colombe des térébinthes lointains”. Hymne de David. Lorsque les Philistins le saisirent à Gath.
For the choirmaster. To the tune of “A Dove on Distant Oaks.” A Miktam (note: Miktam is probably a musical or liturgical term; used for Psalms 16 and 56–60.) of David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath. Be merciful to me, O God, for men are hounding me; all day they press their attack.
Aie pitié de moi, ô Dieu! Car des hommes me harcèlent;
My enemies pursue me all day long, for many proudly assail me.
Tout le jour mes adversaires me harcèlent;
When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.
Quand je suis dans la crainte,
In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Je me glorifierai en Dieu, en sa parole;
All day long they twist my words; all their thoughts are on my demise.
Sans cesse ils portent atteinte à mes droits,
They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps while they wait to take my life.
Ils complotent, ils épient, ils observent mes traces,
In spite of such sin, will they escape? In Your anger, O God, cast down the nations.
C’est par l’iniquité qu’ils espèrent échapper:
You have taken account of my wanderings (note: Or sorrows). Put my tears in Your bottle—are they not in Your book?
Tu comptes les pas de ma vie errante;
Then my enemies will retreat on the day I cry for help. By this I will know that God is on my side.
Mes ennemis reculent, au jour où je crie;
In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise,
Je me glorifierai en Dieu, en sa parole;
in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Je me confie en Dieu, je ne crains rien:
Your vows are upon me, O God; I will render thank offerings to You.
O Dieu! Je dois accomplir les vœux que je t’ai faits;
For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
