After Doeg the Edomite went to Saul and told him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.” Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The loving devotion of God endures all day long.
da Doeg, der Edomiter, kam und sagte Saul an und sprach: David ist in Ahimelechs Haus gekommen.
Your tongue devises destruction like a sharpened razor, O worker of deceit.
Was trotzest du denn, du Tyrann, dass du kannst Schaden tun; so doch Gottes Güte noch täglich währet?
52:1

Deine Zunge trachtet nach Schaden und schneidet mit Lügen wie ein scharfes Schermesser.
52:2
Your tongue devises destruction like a sharpened razor, O worker of deceit.

52:3
You love evil more than good, falsehood more than speaking truth. Selah
Du redest gerne alles, was zu verderben dient, mit falscher Zunge.
52:4
You love every word that devours, O deceitful tongue.
Darum wird dich Gott auch ganz und gar zerstören und zerschlagen und aus deiner Hütte reißen und aus dem Lande der Lebendigen ausrotten. (Sela.)
52:5
Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
Und die Gerechten werden es sehen und sich fürchten und werden sein lachen:
52:6
The righteous will see and fear; they will mock the evildoer, saying,
„Siehe, das ist der Mann, der Gott nicht für seinen Trost hielt, sondern verließ sich auf seinen großen Reichtum und war mächtig, Schaden zu tun.”
52:7
“Look at the man who did not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his wealth and strengthened himself by destruction.”
Ich aber werde bleiben wie ein grüner Ölbaum im Hause Gottes, verlasse mich auf Gottes Güte immer und ewiglich.
52:8
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in the loving devotion of God forever and ever.
Ich danke dir ewiglich, denn du kannst's wohl machen; ich will harren auf deinen Namen, denn deine Heiligen haben Freude daran.
52:9
I will praise You forever, because You have done it. I will wait on Your name—for it is good—in the presence of Your saints.
