Psaume de David. ALEPH. Vers toi, Yahweh, j'élève mon âme, mon Dieu.
Of David (note: This psalm is an acrostic poem, each verse beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.). To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
BETH. En toi je me confie : que je n'aie pas de confusion ! Que mes ennemis ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet !
in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.
GHIMEL. Non, aucun de ceux qui espèrent en toi ne sera confondu ; ceux là seront confondus qui sont infidèles sans cause.
Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who engage in treachery without cause will be disgraced.
DALETH. Yahweh, fais-moi connaître tes voies, enseigne-moi tes sentiers.
Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.
HÉ. Conduis-moi dans ta vérité, VAV. et instruis-moi, car tu es le Dieu de mon salut ; tout le jour en toi j'espère.
Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.
ZAÏN. Souviens-toi de ta miséricorde, Yahweh, et de ta bonté car elles sont éternelles.
Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age.
HETH. Ne te souviens pas des péchés de ma jeunesse ni de mes transgressions ; souviens-toi de moi selon ta miséricorde, à cause de ta bonté, ô Yahweh,
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.
TETH. Yahweh est bon et droit ; c'est pourquoi il indique aux pécheurs la voie.
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.
YOD. Il fait marcher les humbles dans la justice, il enseigne aux humbles sa voie.
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
CAPH. Tous les sentiers de Yahweh sont miséricorde et fidélité, pour ceux qui gardent son alliance et ses commandements.
All the LORD’s ways are loving and faithful to those who keep His covenant and His decrees.
LAMED. A cause de ton nom, Yahweh, tu pardonneras mon iniquité, car elle est grande.
For the sake of Your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.
MEM. Quel est l'homme qui craint Yahweh ? Yahweh lui montre la voie qu'il doit choisir.
Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.
NUN. Son âme repose dans le bonheur, et sa postérité possédera le pays.
His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
SAMECH. La familiarité de Yahweh est pour ceux qui le craignent ; il leur fait connaître les bénédictions de son alliance.
The LORD confides in those who fear Him, and reveals His covenant to them.
AÏN. J'ai les yeux constamment tournés vers Yahweh, car c'est lui qui tirera mes pieds du lacet.
My eyes are always on the LORD, for He will free my feet from the mesh.
PHÉ. Regarde-moi et prends pitié de moi, car je suis délaissé et malheureux.
Turn to me and be gracious, for I am lonely and afflicted.
TSADÉ. Les angoisses de mon cœur se sont accrues : tire-moi de ma détresse !
The troubles of my heart increase; free me from my distress.
Vois ma misère et ma peine, et pardonne tous mes péchés.
Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins.
RESCH. Vois combien sont nombreux mes ennemis, et quelle haine violente ils ont contre moi !
Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with vicious hatred.
SCHIN. Garde mon âme et sauve-moi ! Que je ne sois pas confus, car j'ai mis en toi ma confiance !
Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.
THAV. Que l'innocence et la droiture me protègent, car j'espère en toi.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for You (note: Or because my hope is in You; LXX because I wait for You, O Lord).
