A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the captives of Zion (note: Or brought back the captives to Zion or restored the fortunes of Zion), we were like dreamers (note: Or like those restored to health).
Alors notre bouche fit entendre des cris joyeux, notre langue, des chants d'allégresse. Alors on répéta parmi les nations : « Yahweh a fait pour eux de grandes choses. »
Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
Oui, Yahweh a fait pour nous de grandes choses ; nous sommes dans la joie.
The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Yahweh, ramène nos captifs, comme tu fais couler les torrents dans le Négéb.
Restore our captives (note: Or Restore our fortunes), O LORD, like streams in the Negev.

Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.

He who goes out weeping, bearing a trail of seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain.
