Dies ist das Geschlecht Aarons und Moses zu der Zeit, da der HErr mit Mose redete auf dem Berge Sinai.
This is the account of Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.
Und dies sind die Namen der Söhne Aarons: der Erstgeborene Nadab, darnach Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.
These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, then Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Das sind die Namen der Söhne Aarons, die zu Priestern gesalbt waren und deren Hände gefüllt wurden zum Priestertum.
These were Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.
Aber Nadab und Abihu starben vor dem HErrn, da sie fremdes Feuer opferten vor dem HErrn in der Wüste Sinai, und hatten keine Söhne. Eleasar aber und Ithamar pflegten des Priesteramtes unter ihrem Vater Aaron.
Nadab and Abihu, however, died in the presence of the LORD when they offered unauthorized (note: Or strange) fire before the LORD in the Wilderness of Sinai. And since they had no sons, only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.
Bringe den Stamm Levi herzu und stelle sie vor den Priester Aaron, dass sie ihm dienen
“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.

They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle.
und warten alles Gerätes der Hütte des Stifts und der Hut der Kinder Israel, zu dienen am Dienst der Wohnung.
They shall take care of all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and fulfill obligations for the Israelites by attending to the service of the tabernacle.
Und sollst die Leviten Aaron und seinen Söhnen zuordnen zum Geschenk von den Kindern Israel.
Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him (note: Most MT manuscripts; some MT manuscripts, SP, and LXX (see also Numbers 8:16) to Me) from among the Israelites.
Aaron aber und seine Söhne sollst du setzen, dass sie ihres Priestertums warten. Wo ein Fremder sich herzutut, der soll sterben.
So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
Siehe, ich habe die Leviten genommen unter den Kindern Israel für alle Erstgeburt, welche die Mutter bricht, unter den Kindern Israel, also dass die Leviten sollen mein sein.
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in place of every firstborn Israelite from the womb. The Levites belong to Me,
Denn die Erstgeburten sind mein seit der Zeit, da ich alle Erstgeburt schlug in Ägyptenland; da heiligte ich mir alle Erstgeburt in Israel, vom Menschen an bis auf das Vieh, dass sie mein sein sollen, ich, der HErr.
for all the firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
Und der HErr redete mit Mose in der Wüste Sinai und sprach:
Then the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying,
Zähle die Kinder Levi nach ihren Vaterhäusern und Geschlechtern, alles, was männlich ist, einen Monat alt und darüber.
“Number the Levites by their families and clans. You are to count every male a month old or more.”
Also zählte sie Mose nach dem Wort des HErrn, wie er geboten hatte.
So Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he had been commanded.
Und dies waren die Kinder Levis mit Namen: Gerson, Kahath, Merari.
These were the sons of Levi by name: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Die Namen aber der Kinder Gersons nach ihren Geschlechtern waren: Libni und Simei.
These were the names of the sons of Gershon by their clans: Libni and Shimei.
Die Kinder Kahaths nach ihren Geschlechtern waren: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Usiel.
The sons of Kohath by their clans were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
Die Kinder Meraris nach ihren Geschlechtern waren; Maheli und Musi. Dies sind die Geschlechter Levis nach ihren Vaterhäusern.
And the sons of Merari by their clans were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites, according to their families.
Dies sind die Geschlechter von Gerson: die Libniter und Simeiter.
From Gershon came the Libnite clan and the Shimeite clan; these were the Gershonite clans.

From Kohath came the clans of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these were the clans of the Kohathites.
was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber, an der Zahl achttausendsechshundert, die der Sorge für das Heiligtum warten.
The number of all the males a month old or more was 8,600 (note: Hebrew; some LXX manuscripts 8,300; see the total in verse 39.). They were responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.
und sie sollen sich lagern an die Seite der Wohnung gegen Mittag.
The clans of the Kohathites were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle,

and the leader of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan (note: Elizaphan is a variant of Elzaphan; see Exodus 6:22 and Leviticus 10:4.) son of Uzziel.

Their duties were the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used with them, and the curtain—all the service for these items.
Aber der Oberste über alle Obersten der Leviten soll Eleasar sein, Aarons Sohn, des Priesters, über die, so verordnet sind, zu warten der Sorge für das Heiligtum.
The chief of the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.

From Merari came the clans of the Mahlites and Mushites; these were the Merarite clans.
die an der Zahl waren sechstausendundzweihundert, alles was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber.
The number of all the males a month old or more was 6,200.
Ihr Oberster sei Zuriel, der Sohn Abihails. Und sollen sich lagern an die Seite der Wohnung gegen Mitternacht.
The leader of the families of the Merarites was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.
Und ihr Amt soll sein, zu warten der Bretter und Riegel und Säulen und Füße der Wohnung und alles ihres Gerätes und ihres Dienstes,
The duties assigned to the sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its equipment—all the service for these items,
dazu der Säulen um den Vorhof her mit den Füßen und Nägeln und Seilen.
as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, and ropes.
Aber vor der Wohnung und vor der Hütte des Stifts gegen Morgen sollen sich lagern Mose und Aaron und seine Söhne, dass sie des Heiligtums warten für die Kinder Israel. Wenn sich ein Fremder herzutut, der soll sterben.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
Alle Leviten zusammen, die Mose und Aaron zählten nach ihren Geschlechtern nach dem Wort des HErrn eitel Mannsbilder einen Monat alt und darüber, waren zweiundzwanzigtausend.
The total number of Levites that Moses and Aaron counted by their clans at the LORD’s command, including all the males a month old or more, was 22,000.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Number every firstborn male of the Israelites a month old or more, and list their names.
Und sollst die Leviten mir, dem HErrn, aussondern für alle Erstgeburt der Kinder Israel und der Leviten Vieh für alle Erstgeburt unter dem Vieh der Kinder Israel.
You are to take the Levites for Me—I am the LORD—in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites.”
Und Mose zählte, wie ihm der HErr geboten hatte, alle Erstgeburt unter den Kindern Israel;
So Moses numbered all the firstborn of the Israelites, as the LORD had commanded him.
und fand sich die Zahl der Namen aller Erstgeburt, was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber, in ihrer Summe zweiundzwanzigtausend zweihundertdreiundsiebzig.
The total number of the firstborn males a month old or more, listed by name, was 22,273.
Nimm die Leviten für alle Erstgeburt unter den Kindern Israel und das Vieh der Leviten für ihr Vieh, dass die Leviten mein, des HErrn, seien.
“Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites belong to Me; I am the LORD.
Aber als Lösegeld von den zweihundertdreiundsiebzig Erstgeburten der Kinder Israel, die über der Leviten Zahl sind,
To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who outnumber the Levites,
sollst du je fünf Silberlinge nehmen von Haupt zu Haupt nach dem Lot des Heiligtums (zwanzig Gera hat ein Lot)
you are to collect five shekels (note: 5 shekels is approximately 2 ounces or 57 grams.) for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel of twenty gerahs.
und sollst das Geld für die, so überzählig sind unter ihnen, geben Aaron und seinen Söhnen.
Give the money to Aaron and his sons as the redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
Da nahm Mose das Lösegeld von denen, die über der Leviten Zahl waren,
So Moses collected the redemption money from those in excess of the number redeemed by the Levites.
von den Erstgeburten der Kinder Israel, tausenddreihundert und fünfundsechzig Silberlinge nach dem Lot des Heiligtums,
He collected the money from the firstborn of the Israelites: 1,365 shekels (note: 1,365 shekels is approximately 34.3 pounds or 15.6 kilograms.), according to the sanctuary shekel.
und gab's Aaron und seinen Söhnen nach dem Worte des HErrn, wie der HErr dem Mose geboten hatte.
And Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
