Jésus dit encore à ses disciples : " Il est impossible qu'il n'arrive pas des scandales ; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent !
Jesus said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks will come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on lui mit au cou une meule de moulin, et qu'on le jetât dans la mer, que de scandaliser un seul de ces petits.
It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. Si ton frère a péché contre toi reprends-le, et s'il se repent, pardonne-lui.
Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
Et quand il pécherait contre toi sept fois le jour, s'il revient sept fois [le jour] te dire : Je me repens, tu lui pardonneras. "
Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur : " Augmentez notre foi. "
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Le Seigneur répondit : " Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce mûrier : Déracine-toi, et te transplante dans la mer ; et il vous obéirait.
And the Lord answered, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
Qui de vous, ayant un serviteur au labourage ou à la garde des troupeaux, lui dira, à son retour des champs : Viens vite, et mets-toi à table ?
Which of you whose servant comes in from plowing or shepherding in the field will say to him, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
Ne lui dira-t-il pas, au contraire : Prépare-moi à souper, ceins-toi, et me sers, jusqu'à ce que j'aie mangé et bu ; après cela, toi, tu mangeras et boiras ?
Instead, won’t he tell him, ‘Prepare my meal and dress yourself to serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you may eat and drink’?
A-t-il de la reconnaissance à ce serviteur, parce qu'il a fait ce qui lui était ordonné ?
Does he thank the servant because he did what he was told?
Je ne le pense pas. De même vous, quand vous aurez fait ce qui vous était commandé, dites : Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles ; nous avons fait ce que nous devions faire. "
So you also, when you have done everything commanded of you, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”
En se rendant à Jérusalem, Jésus côtoyait la frontière de la Samarie et de la Galilée.
While Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee.
Comme il entrait dans un village, dix lépreux vinrent à sa rencontre, et se tenant à distance,
As He entered one of the villages, He was met by ten lepers. They stood at a distance
ils élevèrent la voix en disant : " Jésus, Maître, ayez pitié de nous. "
and raised their voices, shouting, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
Dès qu'il les eut aperçus : " Allez, leur dit-il, montrez-vous aux prêtres. " Et en y allant, ils furent guéris.
When Jesus saw them, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests (note: See Leviticus 14:1–32.).” And as they were on their way, they were cleansed.
L'un d'eux, lorsqu'il se vit guéri, revint sur ses pas, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix,
When one of them saw that he was healed, he came back, praising God in a loud voice.
et tombant le visage contre terre aux pieds de Jésus, il lui rendit grâces. Or c'était un Samaritain.
He fell facedown at Jesus’ feet in thanksgiving to Him—and he was a Samaritan.
Prenant alors la parole, Jésus dit : " Est-ce que les dix n'ont pas été guéris ? Et les neuf, où sont-ils ?
“Were not all ten cleansed?” Jesus asked. “Where then are the other nine?
Il ne s'est trouvé parmi eux que cet étranger pour revenir et rendre gloire à Dieu ?
Was no one found except this foreigner to return and give glory to God?”
Et il lui dit : Lève-toi, va ; ta foi t'a sauvé. "
Then Jesus said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well!”
Les Pharisiens lui ayant demandé quand viendrait le royaume de Dieu, il leur répondit : " Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas de manière à frapper les regards.
When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs.
On ne dira point : Il est ici, ou : Il est là ; car voyez, le royaume de Dieu est au milieu de vous. "
Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst (note: Or within you or within your grasp).”
Il dit encore à ses disciples : " Viendra un temps où vous désirerez voir un seul des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez point.
Then He said to the disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
On vous dira : Il est ici, et : Il est là ; gardez-vous d'y aller et de courir après.
People will tell you, ‘Look, there He is!’ or ‘Look, here He is!’ Do not go out or chase after them.
Car, comme la lueur de l'éclair brille d'un bout du ciel à l'autre, ainsi en sera-t-il du Fils de l'homme en son jour.
For just as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will be the Son of Man in His day.
Mais il faut auparavant qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Et comme il arriva aux jours de Noé, ainsi arrivera-t-il aux jours du Fils de l'homme.
Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man:
Les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, ils se mariaient et mariaient leur filles, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche ; et le déluge vint qui les fit périr tous.
People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
Et comme il arriva aux jours de Loth : les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, ils achetaient et vendaient, ils plantaient et bâtissaient ;
It was the same in the days of Lot: People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
mais le jour où Loth sortit de Sodome, une pluie de feu et de soufre tomba du ciel, et les fit périr tous :
But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
ainsi en sera-t-il au jour où le Fils de l'homme paraîtra.
It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
En ce jour, que celui qui sera sur le toit, et dont les effets seront dans la maison, ne descende point pour les prendre ; et que celui qui sera aux champs ne revienne pas non plus en arrière.
On that day, let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve his possessions. Likewise, let no one in the field return for anything he has left behind.
Quiconque cherchera à sauver sa vie, la perdra, et quiconque l'aura perdu, la régénérera.
Whoever tries to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Je vous le dis : en cette nuit-là, de deux personnes qui seront dans le même lit, l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée ;
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed: one will be taken and the other left.
de deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée ; [de deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l'un sera pris et l'autre laissé]. "
Two women will be grinding grain together: one will be taken and the other left (note: TR includes 36Two men will be in the field. One will be taken and the other left; see Matthew 24:40.).”
Il répondit : " Où sera le corps, là s'assembleront les aigles. "
“Where, Lord?” they asked. Jesus answered, “Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.”
