Après cela, Jésus se montra de nouveau à ses disciples sur les bords de la mer de Tibériade : et il se montra ainsi :
Later, by the Sea of Tiberias (note: That is, the Sea of Galilee), Jesus again revealed Himself to the disciples. He made Himself known in this way:
Simon-Pierre, Thomas appelé Didyme, Nathanaël, qui était de Cana en Galilée, les fils de Zébédée et deux autres de ses disciples, étaient ensemble.
Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus (note: Didymus means the twin.), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.
Simon-Pierre leur dit : " Je vais pêcher. " Ils lui dirent : " Nous y allons nous aussi avec toi. " Ils sortirent donc et montèrent dans la barque ; mais ils ne prirent rien cette nuit-là.
Simon Peter told them, “I am going fishing.” “We will go with you,” they said. So they went out and got into the boat, but caught nothing that night.
Le matin venu, Jésus se trouva sur le rivage ; mais les disciples ne savaient pas que c'était Jésus.
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not recognize that it was Jesus.
Et Jésus leur dit : " Enfants, n'avez-vous rien à manger ? " — Non, répondirent-ils.
So He called out to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” “No,” they answered.
Il leur dit : " Jetez le filet à droite de la barque, et vous trouverez. " Ils le jetèrent ; et ils ne pouvaient plus le tirer à cause de la grande quantité de poissons.
He told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish.
Alors le disciple que Jésus aimait dit à Pierre : " C'est le Seigneur ! " Simon-Pierre, ayant entendu que c'était le Seigneur, mit son vêtement et sa ceinture, car il était nu, et se jeta dans la mer.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it) and jumped into the sea.
Les autres disciples vinrent avec la barque (car ils n'étaient éloignés de la terre que d'environ deux cents coudées), en tirant le filet plein de poissons.
The other disciples came ashore in the boat. They dragged in the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards.
Quand ils furent descendus à terre, ils virent là des charbons allumés, du poisson mis dessus, et du pain.
When they landed, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it, and some bread.
Jésus leur dit : " Apportez de ces poissons que vous venez de prendre. "
Jesus told them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.”
Simon-Pierre monta dans la barque, et tira à terre le filet qui était plein de cent cinquante-trois grands poissons ; et quoiqu'il y en eût un si grand nombre, le filet ne se rompit point.
So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn.
Jésus leur dit : " Venez et mangez. " Et aucun des disciples n'osait lui demander : " Qui êtes-vous ? " parce qu'ils savaient que c'était le Seigneur.
“Come, have breakfast,” Jesus said to them. None of the disciples dared to ask Him, “Who are You?” They knew it was the Lord.
Jésus s'approcha, et prenant le pain, il leur en donna ; il fit de même du poisson.
Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and He did the same with the fish.
C'était déjà la troisième fois que Jésus apparaissait à ses disciples, depuis qu'il était ressuscité des morts.
This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.
Lorsqu'ils eurent mangé, Jésus dit à Simon-Pierre : " Simon, fils de Jean, m'aimes-tu plus que ceux-ci ? " Il lui répondit : " Oui, Seigneur, vous savez que je vous aime. " Jésus lui dit : " Pais mes agneaux. "
When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus replied, “Feed My lambs.”
Il lui dit une seconde fois : " Simon, fils de Jean, m'aimes-tu ? " Pierre lui répondit : " Oui, Seigneur, vous savez bien que je vous aime. " Jésus lui dit : " Pais mes agneaux. "
Jesus asked a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “You know I love You.” Jesus told him, “Shepherd My sheep.”
Il lui dit pour la troisième fois : " Simon, fils de Jean, m'aimes-tu ? " Pierre fut contristé de ce que Jésus lui demandait pour la troisième fois : " M'aimes-tu ? " et il lui répondit : " Seigneur, vous connaissez toutes choses, vous savez bien que je vous aime. " Jésus lui dit : " Pais mes brebis.
Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was deeply hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me?” “Lord, You know all things,” he replied. “You know I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
En vérité, en vérité, je te le dis, quand tu étais plus jeune, tu te ceignais toi-même, et tu allais où tu voulais ; mais quand tu seras vieux, tu étendras les mains, et un autre te ceindra, et te mènera où tu ne voudras pas. "
Truly, truly, I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else (note: Or others) will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”
— Il dit cela, indiquant par quelle mort Pierre devait glorifier Dieu. — Et après avoir ainsi parlé, il ajouta : " Suis-moi. "
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. And after He had said this, He told him, “Follow Me.”
Pierre, s'étant retourné, vit venir derrière lui, le disciple que Jésus aimait, celui qui, pendant la cène, s'était penché sur son sein, et lui avait dit : " Seigneur, qui est celui qui vous trahit ? "
Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper to ask, “Lord, who is going to betray You?”
Pierre donc, l'ayant vu, dit à Jésus : " Seigneur, et celui-ci que deviendra-t-il ? "
When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
Jésus lui dit : " Si je veux qu'il demeure jusqu'à ce que je vienne, que t'importe ? Toi, suis-moi. "
Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me!”
Le bruit courut donc parmi les frères que ce disciple ne mourrait point. Pourtant Jésus ne lui avait pas dit qu'il ne mourrait pas ; mais : " Si je veux qu'il demeure jusqu'à ce que je vienne, que t'importe ? "
Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. However, Jesus did not say that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I return, what is that to you?”
C'est ce même disciple qui rend témoignage de ces choses et qui les a écrites ; et nous savons que son témoignage est vrai.
This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who has written them down. And we know that his testimony is true.
Jésus a fait encore beaucoup d'autres choses ; si on les rapportait en détail, je ne pense pas que le monde entier pût contenir les livres qu'il faudrait écrire.
There are many more things that Jesus did. If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written.
