La parole de l’Éternel des armées se révéla, en ces mots:
Again the word of the LORD of Hosts came to me, saying:
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Je suis ému pour Sion d’une grande jalousie, et je suis saisi pour elle d’une grande fureur.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I am jealous for Zion with great zeal; I am jealous for her with great fervor.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Je retourne à Sion, et je veux habiter au milieu de Jérusalem. Jérusalem sera appelée ville fidèle, et la montagne de l’Éternel des armées montagne sainte.
This is what the LORD says: “I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of Hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Des vieillards et des femmes âgées s’assiéront encore dans les rues de Jérusalem, chacun le bâton à la main, à cause du grand nombre de leurs jours.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Old men and old women will again sit along the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of great age.
Les rues de la ville seront remplies de jeunes garçons et de jeunes filles, jouant dans les rues.
And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Si la chose paraît étonnante aux yeux du reste de ce peuple en ces jours-là, sera-t-elle de même étonnante à mes yeux? Dit l’Éternel des armées.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “If this is impossible in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be impossible in My eyes?” declares the LORD of Hosts.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Voici, je délivre mon peuple du pays de l’orient et du pays du soleil couchant.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will save My people from the land of the east and from the land of the west.
Je les ramènerai, et ils habiteront au milieu de Jérusalem; ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu avec vérité et droiture.
I will bring them back to dwell in Jerusalem, where they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Fortifiez vos mains, vous qui entendez aujourd’hui ces paroles de la bouche des prophètes qui parurent au temps où fut fondée la maison de l’Éternel des armées, où le temple allait être bâti.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were present when the foundations were laid to rebuild the temple, the house of the LORD of Hosts.
Car avant ce temps, le travail de l’homme ne recevait pas sa récompense, et le salaire des bêtes était nul; il n’y avait point de paix pour ceux qui entraient et sortaient, à cause de l’ennemi, et je lâchais tous les hommes les uns contre les autres.
For before those days neither man nor beast received wages, nor was there safety from the enemy for anyone who came or went, for I had turned every man against his neighbor.
Maintenant je ne suis pas pour le reste de ce peuple comme j’étais dans le temps passé, dit l’Éternel des armées.
But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
Car les semailles prospéreront, la vigne rendra son fruit, la terre donnera ses produits, et les cieux enverront leur rosée; je ferai jouir de toutes ces choses le reste de ce peuple.
“For the seed will be prosperous, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will yield its produce, and the skies will give their dew. To the remnant of this people I will give all these things as an inheritance.
De même que vous avez été en malédiction parmi les nations, maison de Juda et maison d’Israël, de même je vous sauverai, et vous serez en bénédiction. Ne craignez pas, et que vos mains se fortifient!
As you have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
Car ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Comme j’ai eu la pensée de vous faire du mal lorsque vos pères m’irritaient, dit l’Éternel des armées, et que je ne m’en suis point repenti,
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Just as I resolved to bring disaster upon you when your fathers provoked Me to anger, and I did not relent,” says the LORD of Hosts,
ainsi je reviens en arrière et j’ai résolu en ces jours de faire du bien à Jérusalem et à la maison de Juda. Ne craignez pas!
“so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.
Voici ce que vous devez faire: dites la vérité chacun à son prochain; jugez dans vos portes selon la vérité et en vue de la paix;
These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,
que nul en son cœur ne pense le mal contre son prochain, et n’aimez pas le faux serment, car ce sont là toutes choses que je hais, dit l’Éternel.
do not plot evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely, for I hate all these things,” declares the LORD.
La parole de l’Éternel des armées me fut adressée, en ces mots:
Then the word of the LORD of Hosts came to me, saying,
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Le jeûne du quatrième mois, le jeûne du cinquième, le jeûne du septième et le jeûne du dixième se changeront pour la maison de Juda en jours d’allégresse et de joie, en fêtes de réjouissance. Mais aimez la vérité et la paix.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months will become times of joy and gladness, cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and peace.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: Il viendra encore des peuples et des habitants d’un grand nombre de villes.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Peoples will yet come—the residents of many cities—
Les habitants d’une ville iront à l’autre, en disant: Allons implorer l’Éternel et chercher l’Éternel des armées! Nous irons aussi!
and the residents of one city will go to another, saying: ‘Let us go at once to plead before the LORD and to seek the LORD of Hosts. I myself am going.’
Et beaucoup de peuples et de nombreuses nations viendront chercher l’Éternel des armées à Jérusalem et implorer l’Éternel.
And many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of Hosts in Jerusalem and to plead before the LORD.”
Ainsi parle l’Éternel des armées: En ces jours-là, dix hommes de toutes les langues des nations saisiront un Juif par le pan de son vêtement et diront: Nous irons avec vous, car nous avons appris que Dieu est avec vous.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue will tightly grasp the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
