וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ לְהַקְשִׁ֔יב וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ כָתֵ֖ף סֹרָ֑רֶת וְאָזְנֵיהֶ֖ם הִכְבִּ֥ידוּ מִשְּׁמֽוֹעַ׃
But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder; they stopped up their ears from hearing (note: Hebrew they made their ears too heavy to hear).
