Psalms 90 — parallel

90:1

Praise of a Song, by David. He that dwells in the help of the Highest, shall sojourn under the shelter of the God of heaven.

^91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow .

90:2

He shall say to the Lord, Thou art my helper and my refuge: my God; I will hope in him.

^91:2 I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

90:3

For he shall deliver thee from the snare of the hunters, from [every] troublesome matter.

^91:3 Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague.

90:4

He shall overshadow thee with his shoulders, and thou shalt trust under his wings: his truth shall cover thee with a shield.

^91:4 He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.

90:5

Thou shalt not be afraid of terror by night; nor of the arrow flying by day;

^91:5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

90:6

[nor] of the [evil] thing that walks in darkness; [nor] of calamity, and the evil spirit at noon-day.

^91:6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon.

90:7

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

^91:7 Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.

90:8

Only with thine eyes shalt thou observe and see the reward of sinners.

^91:8 You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

90:9

For thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou, my soul, hast made the Most High thy refuge.

^91:9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—my refuge, the Most High—
