Ὠδὴ ψαλμοῦ τῷ Ἀσάφ.
A Psalm of Asaph. God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods:
Ὁ θεός, τίς ὁμοιωθήσεταί σοι ; μὴ σιγήσῃς μηδὲ καταπραύνῃς, ὁ θεός·
83:1
A song. A Psalm of Asaph. O God, be not silent; be not speechless (note: Or deaf); be not still, O God.
ὅτι ἰδοὺ οἱ ἐχθροί σου ἤχησαν, καὶ οἱ μισοῦντές σε ἤραν κεφαλὴν·
83:2
See how Your enemies rage, how Your foes have reared their heads.
ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν σου κατεπανουργεύσαντο γνώμην, καὶ ἐβουλεύσαντο κατὰ τῶν ἁγίων σου
83:3
With cunning they scheme against Your people and conspire against those You cherish,
εἶπαν Δεῦτε καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσωμεν αὐτοὺς ἐξ ἔθνους, καὶ οὐ μὴ μνησθῇ τὸ ὄνομα Ἰσραὴλ ἔτι
83:4
saying, “Come, let us erase them as a nation; may the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
ὅτι ἐβουλεύσαντο ἐν ὁμονοίᾳ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό, κατὰ σοῦ διαθήκην διέθεντο,
83:5
For with one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against You—
τὰ σκηνώματα τῶν Ἰδουμαίων καὶ οἱ Ἰσμαηλεῖται, Μωὰβ καὶ οἱ Ἀγγαρηνοί,
83:6
the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites,
Ναιβὰλ καὶ Ἀμμὼν καὶ Ἀμαλήκ, καὶ ἀλλόφυλοι μετὰ τῶν κατοικούντων Τύρον·
83:7
of Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, of Philistia with the people of Tyre.
καὶ γὰρ καὶ Ἀσσοὺρ συνπαρεγένετο μετʼ αὐτῶν, ἐγενήθησαν εἰς ἀντίλημψιν τοῖς υἱοῖς Λώτ. διάψαλμα.
83:8
Even Assyria has joined them, lending strength to the sons of Lot. Selah
ποίησον αὐτοῖς ὡς τῇ Μαδιάμ καὶ τῷ Σεισαρα, ὡς ὁ Ἰαβεὶν ἐν τῷ χειμάρρῳ Κεισών·
83:9
Do to them as You did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the River Kishon,
ἐξολεθρεύθησαν ἐν Ἀενδώρ, ἐγενήθησαν ὡς κόπρος τῇ γῇ.
83:10
who perished at Endor and became like dung on the ground.
θοῦ τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτῶν ὡς τὸν Ὠρὴβ καὶ Ζὴβ καὶ Σέβεε καὶ Σελμανά, πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτῶν,
83:11
Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
οἵτινες εἶπαν Κληρονομήσωμεν ἑαυτοῖς τὸ θυσιαστήριον τοῦ θεοῦ.
83:12
who said, “Let us possess for ourselves the pastures of God.”
ὁ θεός μου, θοῦ αὐτοὺς ὡς τροχόν. ὡς καλάμην κατὰ πρόσωπου ἀνέμου.
83:13
Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind.
ὡσεὶ πῦρ ὃ διαφλέξει δρυμόν, ὡς εἰ φλὸξ κατακαύσαι ὄρη,
83:14
As fire consumes a forest, as a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
οὕτως καταδιώξεις αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ καταιγίδι σου. καὶ ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ σου ταράξεις αὐτούς.
83:15
so pursue them with Your tempest, and terrify them with Your storm.
πλήρωσον τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ἀτιμίας, καὶ ζητήσουσιν τὸ ὄνομά σου, Κύριε.
83:16
Cover their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O LORD.
αἰσχυνθήτωσαν καὶ ταραχθήτωσαν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος, καὶ ἐντραπήτωσαν καὶ ἀπολέσθωσαν·
83:17
May they be ever ashamed and terrified; may they perish in disgrace.
καὶ γνώτωσαν ὅτι ὄνομά σοι Κύριος, σὺ μόνος εἶ Ὕψιστος ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν.
83:18
May they know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, are Most High over all the earth.
