For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Lilies of the Covenant.” A Psalm of Asaph. Hear us, O Shepherd of Israel, who leads Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth

80:2

Du Hirte Israels, höre, der du Joseph hütest wie Schafe; erscheine, der du sitzest über dem Cherubim!

Erwecke deine Gewalt, der du vor Ephraim, Benjamin und Manasse bist, und komm uns zu Hilfe!

^80:2 before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Rally Your mighty power and come to save us.

80:4

Gott, tröste uns und lass leuchten dein Antlitz; so genesen wir.

^80:3 Restore us, O God, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.

80:5

HErr, Gott Zebaoth, wie lange willst du zürnen bei dem Gebet deines Volkes?

^80:4 O LORD God of Hosts, how long will Your anger smolder against the prayers of Your people?

80:6

Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und tränkest sie mit großem Maß voll Tränen.

^80:5 You fed them with the bread of tears and made them drink the full measure of their tears.

80:7

Du setzest uns unsren Nachbarn zum Zank, und unsre Feinde spotten unser.

^80:6 You make us contend with our neighbors; our enemies mock us.

80:8

Gott Zebaoth, tröste uns, lass leuchten dein Antlitz; so genesen wir.

^80:7 Restore us, O God of Hosts, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.

80:9

Du hast einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholt und hast vertrieben die Heiden und denselben gepflanzt.

^80:8 You uprooted a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and transplanted it.

80:10

Du hast vor ihm die Bahn gemacht und hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, dass er das Land erfüllt hat.

^80:9 You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land.

80:11

Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und mit seinen Reben die Zedern Gottes.

^80:10 The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches.

Du hast sein Gewächs ausgebreitet bis an das Meer und seine Zweige bis an den Strom.

Warum hast du denn seinen Zaun zerbrochen, dass ihn zerreißt alles, was vorübergeht?

^80:12 Why have You broken down its walls, so that all who pass by pick its fruit?

80:14

Es haben ihn zerwühlt die wilden Säue, und die wilden Tiere haben ihn verderbt.

^80:13 The boar from the forest ravages it, and the creatures of the field feed upon it.

80:15

Gott Zebaoth, wende dich doch, schaue vom Himmel und sieh an und suche heim diesen Weinstock

^80:14 Return, O God of Hosts, we pray! Look down from heaven and see! Attend to this vine—

80:16

und halt ihn im Bau, den deine Rechte gepflanzt hat und den du dir fest erwählt hast.

^80:15 the root Your right hand has planted, the son You have raised up for Yourself.

80:17

Siehe drein und schilt, dass des Brennens und Reißens ein Ende werde.

^80:16 Your vine has been cut down and burned; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.

80:18

Deine Hand schütze das Volk deiner Rechten und die Leute, die du dir fest erwählt hast;

^80:17 Let Your hand be upon the man at Your right hand, on the son of man You have raised up for Yourself.

80:19

so wollen wir nicht von dir weichen. Lass uns leben, so wollen wir deinen Namen anrufen.

^80:18 Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.

80:20

HErr, Gott Zebaoth, tröste uns, lass dein Antlitz leuchten; so genesen wir.
