Parallel

Psalms 48

Louis Segond 1910 · Berean Standard Bible

Cantique. Psaume des fils de Koré.
A song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, His holy mountain.
L’Éternel est grand, il est l’objet de toutes les louanges,
Beautiful in loftiness, the joy of all the earth, like the peaks of Zaphon (note: Or in the far north; the most sacred mountain of the Canaanites was Zaphon) is Mount Zion, the city of the great King.
Belle est la colline, joie de toute la terre, la montagne de Sion;
God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be a fortress.
Dieu, dans ses palais, est connu pour une haute retraite.
For behold, the kings assembled; they all advanced together.
Car voici, les rois s’étaient concertés:
They saw and were astounded; they fled in terror.
Ils ont regardé, tout stupéfaits,
Trembling seized them there, anguish like a woman in labor.
Là un tremblement les a saisis,
With a wind from the east You wrecked the ships of Tarshish (note: Or a fleet of trading ships).
Ils ont été chassés comme par le vent d’orient,
As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish her forever. Selah
Ce que nous avions entendu dire, nous l’avons vu
Within Your temple, O God, we contemplate Your loving devotion.
O Dieu, nous pensons à ta bonté
Your name, O God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
Comme ton nom, ô Dieu!
Mount Zion is glad, the daughters (note: Or the villages) of Judah rejoice, on account of Your judgments.
La montagne de Sion se réjouit,
March around Zion, encircle her, count her towers,
Parcourez Sion, parcourez-en l’enceinte,
consider her ramparts, tour her citadels, that you may tell the next generation.
Observez son rempart,
For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death (note: Or He will guide us beyond death).
