Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen.

For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

20:2

Der HERR erhöre dich in der Not; der Name des Gottes Jakobs schütze dich!

Er sende dir Hilfe vom Heiligtum und stärke dich aus Zion.

^20:2 May He send you help from the sanctuary and sustain you from Zion.

20:4

Er gedenke all deines Speisopfers, und dein Brandopfer müsse vor ihm fett sein. (Sela.)

^20:3 May He remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Selah

20:5

Er gebe dir was dein Herz begehrt, und erfülle alle deine Anschläge.

^20:4 May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

20:6

Wir rühmen, dass du uns hilfst, und im Namen unsres Gottes werfen wir Panier auf. Der HERR gewähre dir alle deine Bitten!

^20:5 May we shout for joy at your victory and raise a banner in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your petitions.

20:7

Nun merke ich, dass der HERR seinem Gesalbten hilft und erhört ihn in seinem heiligen Himmel; seine rechte Hand hilft mit Macht.

^20:6 Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand.

20:8

Jene verlassen sich auf Wagen und Rosse; wir aber denken an den Namen des HERRn, unsres Gottes.

^20:7 Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

20:9

Sie sind niedergestürzt und gefallen; wir aber stehen aufgerichtet.

^20:8 They collapse and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

20:10

Hilf, HERR, dem König und erhöre uns, wenn wir rufen!
