Psalms 114

Brenton's English Septuagint · Berean Standard Bible

Alleluia. I am well pleased, because the Lord will hearken to the voice of my supplication.
116:1 I love the LORD, for He has heard my voice—my appeal for mercy.
Because he has inclined his ear to me, therefore will I call upon him while I live.
116:2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.
The pangs of death compassed me; the dangers of hell found me: I found affliction and sorrow.
116:3 The ropes of death entangled me; the anguish of Sheol overcame me; I was confronted by trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord: O Lord, deliver my soul.
116:4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, deliver my soul!”
The Lord is merciful and righteous; yea, our God has pity.
116:5 The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
The Lord preserves the simple: I was brought low, and he delivered me.
116:6 The LORD preserves the simplehearted; I was helpless, and He saved me.
Return to thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with thee.
116:7 Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
For he has delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
116:8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
I shall be well-pleasing before the Lord in the land of the living.
116:9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
