Halleluja! Danket dem HERRn; denn er ist freundlich, und seine Güte währet ewiglich.
107:1
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.
Wer kann die großen Taten des HERRn ausreden und alle seine löblichen Werke preisen?
107:2
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy
Wohl denen, die das Gebot halten und tun immerdar recht!
107:3
and gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south (note: Hebrew north and the sea).
HERR, gedenke mein nach der Gnade, die du deinem Volk verheißen hast; beweise uns deine Hilfe,
107:4
Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no path to a city in which to dwell.
dass wir sehen mögen die Wohlfahrt deiner Auserwählten und uns freuen, dass es deinem Volk wohl geht, und uns rühmen mit deinem Erbteil.
107:5
They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them.
Wir haben gesündigt samt unsren Vätern; wir haben missgehandelt und sind gottlos gewesen.
107:6
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.
Unsre Väter in Ägypten wollten deine Wunder nicht verstehen; sie gedachten nicht an deine große Güte und waren ungehorsam am Meer, am Schilfmeer.
107:7
He led them on a straight path to reach a city where they could live.
Er half ihnen aber um seines Namens willen, dass er seine Macht bewiese.
107:8
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.
Und er schalt das Schilfmeer: da ward's trocken, und führte sie durch die Tiefen wie in einer Wüste
107:9
For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
und half ihnen von der Hand des, der sie hasste, und erlöste sie von der Hand des Feindes;
107:10
Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and chains,
und die Wasser ersäuften ihre Widersacher, dass nicht einer übrig blieb.
107:11
because they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.
Da glaubten sie an seine Worte und sangen sein Lob.
107:12
He humbled their hearts with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Aber sie vergaßen bald seiner Werke; sie warteten nicht auf seinen Rat.
107:13
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.
Und sie wurden lüstern in der Wüste und versuchten Gott in der Einöde.
107:14
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke away their chains.
Er aber gab ihnen ihre Bitte und sandte ihnen genug, bis ihnen davor ekelte.
107:15
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.
Und sie empörten sich wider Mose im Lager, wider Aaron, den Heiligen des HERRn.
107:16
For He has broken down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.
Die Erde tat sich auf und verschlang Dathan und deckte zu die Rotte Abirams,
107:17
Fools, in their rebellious ways, and through their iniquities, suffered affliction.
und Feuer ward unter ihrer Rotte angezündet, die Flamme verbrannte die Gottlosen.
107:18
They loathed all food and drew near to the gates of death.
Sie machten ein Kalb am Horeb und beteten an das gegossene Bild
107:19
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.
und verwandelten ihre Ehre in ein Gleichnis eines Ochsen, der Gras frisst.
107:20
He sent forth His word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit.
Sie vergaßen Gottes, ihres Heilands, der so große Dinge in Ägypten getan hatte,
107:21
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.
Wunder im Lande Hams und schreckliche Werke am Schilfmeer.
107:22
Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.
Und er sprach, er wolle sie vertilgen, wo nicht Mose, sein Auserwählter, in den Riss getreten wäre vor ihm, seinen Grimm abzuwenden, auf dass er sie nicht gar verderbte.
107:23
Others went out to sea in ships, conducting trade on the mighty waters.
Und sie verachteten das liebe Land, sie glaubten seinem Wort nicht
107:24
They saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep.
und murrten in ihren Hütten; sie gehorchten der Stimme des HERRn nicht.
107:25
For He spoke and raised a tempest that lifted the waves of the sea.
Und er hob auf seine Hand wider sie, dass er sie niederschlüge in der Wüste
107:26
They mounted up to the heavens, then sunk to the depths; their courage melted in their anguish.
und würfe ihren Samen unter die Heiden und zerstreute sie in die Länder.
107:27
They reeled and staggered like drunkards, and all their skill was useless (note: Or and all their wisdom was swallowed up or and they were at their wits’ end).
Und sie hingen sich an den Baal-Peor und aßen von den Opfern der toten Götzen
107:28
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress.
und erzürnten ihn mit ihrem Tun; da brach auch die Plage unter sie.
107:29
He calmed the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea (note: DSS; MT their waves) were hushed.
Da trat Pinehas herzu und schlichtete die Sache; da ward der Plage gesteuert.
107:30
They rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the harbor they desired.
Das ward ihm gerechnet zur Gerechtigkeit für und für ewiglich.
107:31
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.
Und sie erzürnten ihn am Haderwasser, und Mose ging es übel um ihretwillen.
107:32
Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders.
Denn sie betrübten ihm sein Herz, dass ihm etliche Worte entfuhren.
107:33
He turns rivers into deserts, springs of water into thirsty ground,
Auch vertilgten sie die Völker nicht, wie sie doch der HERR geheißen hatte;
107:34
and fruitful land into fields of salt, because of the wickedness of its dwellers.
sondern sie mengten sich unter die Heiden und lernten derselben Werke
107:35
He turns a desert into pools of water and a dry land into flowing springs.
und dienten ihren Götzen; die wurden ihnen zum Fallstrick.
107:36
He causes the hungry to settle there, that they may establish a city in which to dwell.
Und sie opferten ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter den Teufeln
107:37
They sow fields and plant vineyards that yield a fruitful harvest.
und vergossen unschuldig Blut, das Blut ihrer Söhne und ihrer Töchter, die sie opferten den Götzen Kanaans, dass das Land mit Blutschulden befleckt ward;
107:38
He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; He does not let their herds diminish.
und verunreinigten sich mit ihren Werken und wurden abgöttisch mit ihrem Tun.
107:39
When they are decreased and humbled by oppression, evil, and sorrow,
Da ergrimmte der Zorn des HERRn über sein Volk, und er gewann einen Greuel an seinem Erbe
107:40
He pours out contempt on the nobles and makes them wander in a trackless wasteland.
und gab sie in die Hände der Heiden, dass über sie herrschten, die ihnen gram waren.
107:41
But He lifts the needy from affliction and increases their families like flocks.
Und ihre Feinde ängsteten sie; und sie wurden gedemütigt unter ihre Hände.
107:42
The upright see and rejoice, and all iniquity shuts its mouth.
Er errettete sie oftmals; aber sie erzürnten ihn mit ihrem Vornehmen und wurden wenig um ihrer Missetat willen.
107:43
Let him who is wise pay heed to these things and consider the loving devotion of the LORD.
Und er sah ihre Not an, da er ihre Klage hörte,
Nevertheless He heard their cry; He took note of their distress.
und gedachte an seinen Bund, den er mit ihnen gemacht hatte; und es reute ihn nach seiner großen Güte,
And He remembered His covenant with them, and relented by the abundance of His loving devotion.
und er ließ sie zur Barmherzigkeit kommen vor allen, die sie gefangen hatten.
He made them objects of compassion to all who held them captive.
Hilf uns, HERR, unser Gott, und bringe uns zusammen aus den Heiden, dass wir danken deinem heiligen Namen und rühmen dein Lob.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name, that we may glory in Your praise.
Gelobet sei der HERR, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit, und alles Volk spreche: Amen, halleluja!
Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Hallelujah!
