λόγοις οὐ παιδευθήσεται οἰκέτης σκληρός· ἐὰν γὰρ καὶ νοήσῃ, ἀλλʼ οὐχ ὑπακούσεται.
A servant cannot be corrected by words alone; though he understands, he will not respond.
