ἀκόλαστον οἶνος καὶ ὑβριστικὸν μέθη, πᾶς δὲ ἄφρων τοιούτοις συμπλέκεται.
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
