Therefore shalt thou give presents to (note: Or, for) Moresheth–gath: the houses of Achzib (note: That is, a lie) shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
Therefore, send farewell gifts (note: Or give dowry) to Moresheth-gath (note: Moresheth sounds like the Hebrew for gift or dowry.); the houses of Achzib (note: Achzib means deception.) will prove deceptive to the kings of Israel.
