ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πᾶς ὁ ὀργιζόμενος τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ εἰκῇ ἔνοχος ἔσται τῇ κρίσει· ὃς δ’ ἂν εἴπῃ τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ, Ῥακά, ἔνοχος ἔσται τῷ συνεδρίῳ· ὃς δ’ ἂν εἴπῃ, Μωρέ, ἔνοχος ἔσται εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός.
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother (note: BYZ and TR include without cause.) will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca (note: Raca is an Aramaic expression of contempt.),’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin (note: Or the Council). But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell (note: Or the hell of fire; Greek the Gehenna of fire).
