Κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῷ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον, ὃν ἤθελον.
Now it was the governor’s custom at the feast to release to the crowd a prisoner of their choosing.
