Comme Jésus s'en allait, au sortir du temple, ses disciples s'approchèrent de lui pour lui en faire remarquer les constructions.
As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings.
Mais, prenant la parole, il leur dit : " Voyez-vous tous ces bâtiments ? Je vous le dis en vérité, il n'y sera pas laissé pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée. "
“Do you see all these things?” He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”
Lorsqu'il se fut assis sur la montagne des Oliviers, ses disciples s'approchèrent, et, seuls avec lui, lui dirent : " Dites-nous quand ces choses arriveront, et quel sera le signe de votre avènement et de la fin du monde ? "
While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jésus leur répondit : " Prenez garde que nul ne vous séduise.
Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you.
Car plusieurs viendront sous mon nom, disant : C'est moi qui suis le Christ, et ils en séduiront un grand nombre.
For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
Vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerre ; n'en soyez pas troublés, car il faut que ces choses arrivent ; mais ce ne sera pas encore la fin.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.
On verra s'élever nation contre nation, royaume contre royaume, et il y aura des pestes, des famines et des tremblements de terre en divers lieux.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
Tout cela ne sera que le commencement des douleurs.
All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Alors on vous livrera aux tortures et on vous fera mourir, et vous serez en haine à toutes les nations, à cause de mon nom.
Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
Alors aussi beaucoup failliront ; ils se trahiront et se haïront les uns les autres.
At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another,
Et il s'élèvera plusieurs faux prophètes qui en séduiront un grand nombre.
and many false prophets will arise and deceive many.
Et à cause des progrès croissants de l'iniquité, la charité d'un grand nombre se refroidira.
Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.
Mais celui qui persévérera jusqu'à la fin sera sauvé.
But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
Cet évangile du royaume sera prêché dans le monde entier, pour être un témoignage à toutes les nations ; alors viendra la fin.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
" Quand donc vous verrez l'abomination de la désolation, annoncée par le prophète Daniel, établie en lieu saint, — que celui qui lit, entende ! —
So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination of desolation (note: See Daniel 9:27, Daniel 11:31, and Daniel 12:11.),’ spoken of by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand),
alors que ceux qui sont dans la Judée s'enfuient dans les montagnes ;
then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
et que celui qui est sur le toit ne descende pas pour prendre ce qu'il a dans sa maison ;
Let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve anything from his house.
et que celui qui est dans les champs ne revienne pas pour prendre son vêtement.
And let no one in the field return for his cloak.
Malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là !
How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers!
Priez pour que votre fuite n'arrive pas en hiver, ni un jour de sabbat ;
Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath.
car il y aura alors une si grande détresse, qu'il n'y en a point eu de semblable depuis le commencement du monde jusqu'ici, et qu'il n'y en aura jamais.
For at that time there will be great tribulation, unseen from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again.
Et si ces jours n'étaient abrégés, nul n'échapperait ; mais, à cause des élus, ces jours seront abrégés.
If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.
Alors, si quelqu'un vous dit : Le Christ est ici, ou : Il est là, ne le croyez point.
At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it.
Car il s'élèvera de faux Christs et de faux prophètes, et ils feront de grands prodiges et des choses extraordinaires, jusqu'à séduire, s'il se pouvait, les élus mêmes.
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive even the elect, if that were possible.
Si donc on vous dit : Le voici dans le désert, ne sortez point ; le voici dans le lieu le plus retiré de la maison, ne le croyez point.
So if they tell you, ‘There He is, in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Here He is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
Car, comme l'éclair part de l'orient et brille jusqu'à l'occident, ainsi en sera-t-il de l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Partout où sera le cadavre, là s'assembleront les aigles.
Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
" Aussitôt après ces jours d'affliction, le soleil s'obscurcira, la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière, les étoiles tomberont du ciel, et les puissances des cieux seront ébranlées.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken (note: Or and the celestial bodies will be shaken; see Isaiah 13:10, Isaiah 34:4, and Joel 2:10.).’
Alors apparaîtra dans le ciel le signe du Fils de l'homme, et toutes les tribus de la terre se frapperont la poitrine, et elles verront le Fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées du ciel avec une grande puissance et une grande majesté.
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven (note: Or the sky; twice in this verse), and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (note: See Daniel 7:13–14.).
Et il enverra ses anges avec la trompette retentissante, et ils rassembleront ses élus des quatre vents, depuis une extrémité du ciel jusqu'à l'autre.
And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
" Écoutez une comparaison prise du figuier. Dès que ses rameaux deviennent tendres, et qu'il pousse ses feuilles, vous savez que l'été est proche.
Now learn this lesson (note: Or this parable) from the fig tree: As soon as its branches become tender and sprout leaves, you know that summer is near.
Ainsi, lorsque vous verrez toutes ces choses, sachez que le Fils de l'homme est proche, qu'il est à la porte.
So also, when you see all these things, you will know that He is near (note: Or it is near), right at the door.
Je vous le dis en vérité, cette génération ne passera point que toutes ces choses n'arrivent.
Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened.
Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.
" Quant au jour et à l'heure, nul ne les connaît, pas même les anges du ciel, mais le Père seul.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son (note: BYZ and TR do not include nor the Son.), but only the Father.
" Tels furent les jours de Noé, tel sera l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Car dans les jours qui précédèrent le déluge, les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, se mariaient et mariaient leur filles, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche ;
For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.
et ils ne surent rien, jusqu'à ce que le déluge survînt, qui les emporta tous : ainsi en sera-t-il à l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.
And they were oblivious until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Alors, de deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l'un sera pris, l'autre laissé ;
Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
de deux femmes qui seront à moudre à la meule, l'une sera prise, l'autre laissée.
Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.
Veillez donc, puisque vous ne savez à quel moment votre Seigneur doit venir.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come.
Sachez-le bien, si le père de famille savait à quelle heure le voleur doit venir, il veillerait et ne laisserait pas percer sa maison.
But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
Tenez-vous donc prêts, vous aussi ; car le Fils de l'homme viendra à l'heure où vous n'y penserez pas.
For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.
" Quel est donc le serviteur fidèle et prudent que son maître a établi sur les gens de sa maison, pour leur distribuer la nourriture en son temps ?
Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time?
Heureux ce serviteur que son maître, à son retour, trouvera agissant ainsi !
Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
En vérité, je vous le dis, il l'établira sur tous ses biens.
Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
Mais, si c'est un méchant serviteur, et que, disant en lui-même : Mon maître tarde à venir,
But suppose that servant is wicked and says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’
il se mette à battre ses compagnons, à manger et à boire avec des gens adonnés au vin,
And he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.
le maître de ce serviteur viendra le jour où il ne l'attend pas, et à l'heure qu'il ne sait pas,
The master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not anticipate.
et il le fera déchirer de coups, et lui assignera son lot avec les hypocrites : c'est là qu'il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents.
Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
