This is the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (note: ECM, NE, BYZ, and TR; SBL and WH the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ.).
Selon ce qui est écrit dans le prophète Isaïe : " Voilà que j'envoie mon messager devant vous, pour vous frayer le chemin.
As it is written in Isaiah the prophet (note: BYZ and TR in the prophets:): “Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way (note: Malachi 3:1).”
Une voix crie dans le désert : Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, aplanissez ses sentiers. "
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him (note: Isaiah 40:3 (see also LXX)).’”
Jean parut, baptisant dans le désert, et prêchant le baptême de pénitence pour la rémission des péchés.
John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Tout le pays de Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem venaient à lui, et, confessant leurs péchés, ils recevaient de lui le baptême dans le fleuve du Jourdain.
People went out to him from all of Jerusalem and the countryside of Judea. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
Or, Jean était vêtu de poils de chameau ; il avait autour de ses reins une ceinture de cuir, et se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage. Et il prêchait ainsi :
John was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
" Il vient après moi, celui qui est plus puissant que moi, et je ne suis pas digne de délier, en me baissant, les cordons de sa chaussure.
And he proclaimed: “After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
Moi, je vous ai baptisés dans l'eau, mais lui vous baptisera dans le Saint-Esprit. "
I baptize you with water (note: Or in water), but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit (note: Or in the Holy Spirit).”
Or, il arriva en ces jours-là que Jésus vint de Nazareth, ville de Galilée, et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Et, comme il sortait de l'eau, il vit les cieux s'ouvrir et l'Esprit-Saint descendre sur lui comme une colombe.
As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw (note: Or he saw; see John 1:32–33) the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.
Et du ciel une voix se fit entendre : " Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, en toi j'ai mis mes complaisances. "
And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
Et aussitôt L'Esprit poussa Jésus au désert.
At once the Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness,
Et il y demeura quarante jours, tenté par Satan ; il était parmi les bêtes sauvages, et les anges le servaient.
and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.
Après que Jean eut été mis en prison, Jésus vint en Galilée, prêchant l'Évangile du royaume de Dieu.
After the arrest of John, Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God (note: BYZ and TR the gospel of the kingdom of God).
Il disait : " Le temps est accompli, et le royaume de Dieu est proche ; repentez-vous et croyez à l'Évangile. "
“The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!”
Passant le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit Simon et André son frère qui jetaient leurs filets dans la mer, car ils étaient pêcheurs.
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
Jésus leur dit : " Venez à ma suite, et je vous ferai devenir pêcheurs d'hommes. "
“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Aussitôt, laissant leurs filets, ils le suivirent.
And at once they left their nets and followed Him.
Un peu plus loin, il vit Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean son frère, qui étaient, eux aussi, dans une barque, réparant leurs filets.
Going on a little farther, He saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat, mending their nets.
Il les appela aussitôt ; et, laissant leur père Zébédée dans la barque avec les mercenaires, ils le suivirent.
Immediately Jesus called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.
Ils se rendirent à Capharnaüm, et dès le premier sabbat, Jésus entrant dans la synagogue, se mit à enseigner.
Then Jesus and His companions went to Capernaum, and right away Jesus entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and began to teach.
Et ils étaient frappés de sa doctrine, car il les enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non comme les Scribes.
The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
Or il se trouva dans leur synagogue un homme possédé d'un esprit impur, qui s'écria :
Suddenly a man with an unclean spirit cried out in the synagogue:
" Qu'avons-nous à faire avec vous, Jésus de Nazareth ? Vous êtes venu pour nous perdre ! Je sais qui vous êtes, le Saint de Dieu. "
“What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
Mais Jésus, lui parlant avec menace : " Tais-toi, dit-il, et sors de cet homme. "
But Jesus rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
Et l'esprit impur, l'agitant violemment, sortit de lui en jetant un grand cri.
At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek.
Tous furent saisis d'étonnement, de sorte qu'ils se demandaient entre eux : " Qu'est-ce que ceci ? Quelle est cette doctrine nouvelle ? Car il commande en maître, même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent. "
All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
Et sa renommée se répandit aussitôt dans tout le pays qui avoisine la Galilée.
And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee.
En sortant de la synagogue, ils allèrent aussitôt dans la maison de Simon et d'André, avec Jacques et Jean.
As soon as Jesus and His companions had left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.
Or, la belle-mère de Simon était au lit, ayant la fièvre ; aussitôt ils parlèrent d'elle à Jésus.
Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.
Il s'approcha et la fit lever, en la prenant par la main ; au même instant la fièvre la quitta, et elle se mit à les servir.
So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.
Sur le soir, après le coucher du soleil, il lui amenèrent tous les malades et les démoniaques,
That evening, after sunset, people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed,
Il guérit beaucoup de malades affligés de diverses infirmités, et il chassa beaucoup de démons ; mais il ne leur permettait pas de parler, parce qu'ils le connaissaient.
And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
Le lendemain, s'étant levé longtemps avant le jour, il sortit, alla dans un lieu solitaire, et il y pria.
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
Simon et ceux qui étaient avec lui se mirent à sa recherche ;
Simon and his companions went to look for Him,
et l'ayant trouvé, ils lui dirent : " Tout le monde vous cherche. "
and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”
Il leur répondit : " Allons ailleurs dans les bourgades voisines, afin que j'y prêche aussi ; car c'est pour cela que je suis sorti. "
But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
Et il prêchait dans leurs synagogues, parcourant la Galilée entière, et chassait les démons.
So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
Un lépreux vint à lui, et se jetant à ses genoux, il lui dit d'un ton suppliant : " Si vous voulez, vous pouvez me guérir. "
Then a leper (note: A leper was one afflicted with a skin disease. See Leviticus 13.) came to Jesus, begging on his knees: “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Emu de compassion, Jésus étendit la main, et le toucha, en disant : " Je le veux, sois guéri. "
Moved with compassion (note: SBL Moved with indignation), Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
Et dès qu'il eut parlé, la lèpre quitta cet homme, et il fut guéri.
And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed.
Aussitôt Jésus le renvoya, en lui disant d'un ton sévère :
Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning:
" Garde-toi d'en parler à personne ; mais va te montrer au prêtre, et offre pour ta guérison ce que Moïse a ordonné pour l'attester au peuple. "
“See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them (note: See Leviticus 14:1–32.).”
Mais cet homme étant parti, se mit à raconter et à publier partout ce qui s'était passé : de sorte que Jésus ne pouvait plus entrer publiquement dans une ville ; il se tenait dehors, dans des lieux solitaires, et l'on venait à lui de tous côtés.
But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.
