Es waren aber zu der Zeit etliche dabei, die verkündigten ihm von den Galiläern, deren Blut Pilatus mit ihrem Opfer vermischt hatte.
At that time some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Meinet ihr, dass diese Galiläer vor allen Galiläern Sünder gewesen sind, dieweil sie das erlitten haben?
To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this way?
Ich sage: Nein; sondern so ihr euch nicht bessert, werdet ihr alle auch also umkommen.
No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Oder meinet ihr, dass die achtzehn, auf die der Turm von Siloah fiel und erschlug sie, seien schuldig gewesen vor allen Menschen, die zu Jerusalem wohnen?
Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem?
Ich sage: Nein; sondern so ihr euch nicht bessert, werdet ihr alle auch also umkommen.
No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
Er sagte ihnen aber dies Gleichnis: Es hatte einer einen Feigenbaum, der war gepflanzt in seinem Weinberge; und er kam und suchte Frucht darauf, und fand sie nicht.
Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.
Da sprach er zu dem Weingärtner: Siehe, ich bin nun drei Jahre lang alle Jahre gekommen und habe Frucht gesucht auf diesem Feigenbaum, und finde sie nicht. Haue ihn ab! was hindert er das Land?
So he said to the keeper of the vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Herr, lass ihn noch dies Jahr, bis dass ich um ihn grabe und bedünge ihn,
‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone again this year, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
ob er wolle Frucht bringen, wo nicht so haue ihn darnach ab.
If it bears fruit next year, fine. But if not, you can cut it down.’”
Und er lehrte in einer Schule am Sabbat.
One Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,
Und siehe, ein Weib war da, das hatte einen Geist der Krankheit achtzehn Jahre; und sie war krumm und konnte nicht wohl aufsehen.
and a woman there had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was hunched over and could not stand up straight.
Da sie aber Jesus sah, rief er sie zu sich und sprach zu ihr: Weib, sei los von deiner Krankheit!
When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your disability.”
Und legte die Hände auf sie; und alsobald richtete sie sich auf und pries Gott.
Then He placed His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and began to glorify God.
Da antwortete der Oberste der Schule und war unwillig, dass Jesus am Sabbat heilte, und sprach zu dem Volk: Es sind sechs Tage, an denen man arbeiten soll; an ihnen kommt und lasst euch heilen, und nicht am Sabbattage.
But the synagogue leader was indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the crowd. “So come and be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”
Da antwortete ihm der Herr und sprach: Du Heuchler! löst nicht ein jeglicher unter euch seinen Ochsen oder Esel von der Krippe am Sabbat und führt ihn zur Tränke?
“You hypocrites!” the Lord replied. “Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it to water?
Sollte aber nicht gelöst werden am Sabbat diese, die doch Abrahams Tochter ist, von diesem Bande, welche Satanas gebunden hatte nun wohl achtzehn Jahre?
Then should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released from her bondage on the Sabbath day?”
Und als er solches sagte, mussten sich schämen alle, die ihm zuwider gewesen waren; und alles Volk freute sich über alle herrlichen Taten, die von ihm geschahen.
When Jesus said this, all His adversaries were humiliated. And the whole crowd rejoiced at all the glorious things He was doing.
Er sprach aber: Wem ist das Reich Gottes gleich, und wem soll ich's vergleichen?
Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it?
Es ist einem Senfkorn gleich, welches ein Mensch nahm und warf's in seinen Garten; und es wuchs und ward ein großer Baum, und die Vögel des Himmels wohnten unter seinen Zweigen.
It is like a mustard seed that a man tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”
Und abermals sprach er: Wem soll ich das Reich Gottes vergleichen?
Again He asked, “To what can I compare the kingdom of God?
Es ist einem Sauerteige gleich, welchen ein Weib nahm und verbarg ihn unter drei Scheffel Mehl, bis dass es ganz sauer ward.
It is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”
Und er ging durch Städte und Märkte und lehrte und nahm seinen Weg gen Jerusalem.
Then Jesus traveled throughout the towns and villages, teaching as He made His way toward Jerusalem.
Es sprach aber einer zu ihm: Herr, meinst du, dass wenige selig werden? Er aber sprach zu ihnen:
“Lord,” someone asked Him, “will only a few people be saved?” Jesus answered,
Ringet darnach, dass ihr durch die enge Pforte eingehet; denn viele werden, das sage ich euch, darnach trachten, wie sie hineinkommen, und werden's nicht tun können.
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.
Von dem an, wenn der Hauswirt aufgestanden ist und die Tür verschlossen hat, da werdet ihr dann anfangen draußen zu stehen und an die Tür klopfen und sagen: Herr, Herr, tu uns auf! Und er wird antworten und zu euch sagen: Ich kenne euch nicht, wo ihr her seid?
After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
So werdet ihr dann anfangen zu sagen: Wir haben vor dir gegessen und getrunken, und auf den Gassen hast du uns gelehrt.
Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
Und er wird sagen: Ich sage euch: Ich kenne euch nicht, wo ihr her seid; weichet alle von mir, ihr Übeltäter.
And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers.’
Da wird sein Heulen und Zähneklappen, wenn ihr sehen werdet Abraham und Isaak und Jakob und alle Propheten im Reich Gottes, euch aber hinausgestoßen.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are thrown out.
Und es werden kommen vom Morgen und vom Abend, von Mitternacht und vom Mittage, die zu Tische sitzen werden im Reich Gottes.
People will come from east and west and north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
Und siehe, es sind Letzte, die werden die Ersten sein, und sind Erste, die werden die Letzten sein.
And indeed, some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”
An demselben Tage kamen etliche Pharisäer und sprachen zu ihm: Hebe dich hinaus und gehe von hinnen; denn Herodes will dich töten!
At that very hour, some Pharisees came to Jesus and told Him, “Leave this place and get away, because Herod wants to kill You.”
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Gehet hin und saget diesem Fuchs: Siehe, ich treibe Teufel aus und mache gesund heut und morgen, und am dritten Tage werde ich ein Ende nehmen.
But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.’
Doch muss ich heute und morgen und am Tage darnach wandeln; denn es tut's nicht, dass ein Prophet umkomme außer Jerusalem.
Nevertheless, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day, for it is not admissible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, die du tötest die Propheten und steinigest, die zu dir gesandt werden, wie oft habe ich wollen deine Kinder versammeln, wie eine Henne ihr Nest unter ihre Flügel, und ihr habt nicht gewollt!
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!
Sehet, euer Haus soll euch wüst gelassen werden. Denn ich sage euch: Ihr werdet mich nicht sehen, bis dass es komme, dass ihr sagen werdet: Gelobt ist, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn!
Look, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
