Und der HErr sprach zu Gideon: Des Volks ist noch zu viel. Führe sie sie hinab ans Wasser, daselbst will ich sie dir prüfen. Und von welchem ich dir sagen werde, dass er mit dir ziehen soll, der soll mit dir ziehen; von welchem aber ich sagen werde, dass er nicht mit dir ziehen soll, der soll nicht ziehen.
Then the LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go. But if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”
