Καὶ ἦλθεν ἄγγελος Κυρίου καὶ ἐκάθισεν ὑπὸ τὴν τερέμινθον τὴν ἐν Ἐφραθὰ ἐν τῇ Ἰωὰς πατρὸς τοῦ ’Εσδρεί· καὶ Γεδεὼν υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ῥαβδίζων σῖτον ἐν ληνῷ εἰς ἐκφυγεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ Μαδιάμ.
Then the angel (note: Or Angel; also in verses 12, 20, 21, and 22; corresponding pronouns may also be capitalized.) of the LORD came and sat down under the oak (note: Or terebinth or great tree; also in verse 19) in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites.
