καὶ κατέσχεν αὐτὸν ὁ γαμβρὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ πατὴρ τῆς νεάνιδος, καὶ ἐκάθισεν μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τρεῖς ἡμέρας, καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον, καὶ ηὐλίσθησαν ἐκεῖ.
His father-in-law, the girl’s father, persuaded him to stay, so he remained with him three days, eating, drinking, and lodging there.
