καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ λέγοντες Οὐχί, ὅτι ἁλλ’ ἢ δεσμῷ δήσομεν σε καὶ παραδώσομέν σε ἐν χειρὶ αὐτῶν, καὶ θανάτῳ οὐ θανατώσομέν σε· καὶ ἔδησαν αὐτὸν ἐν δυσὶ καλωδίοις κοινοῖς, καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς πέτρας ἐκείνης.
“No,” they answered, “we will not kill you, but we will tie you up securely and hand you over to them.” So they bound him with two new ropes and led him up from the rock.
