But the men of Israel said to the Hivites, “Perhaps you dwell near us. How can we make a treaty with you?”
וַיֹּאמְרוּ אִֽישׁ־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־ הַחִוִּ֑י אוּלַ֗י בְּקִרְבִּי֙ אַתָּ֣ה יוֹשֵׁ֔ב וְאֵ֖יךְ אֶכְרוֹת לְךָ֥ בְרִֽית׃
