Josué, fils de Nun, fit partir en secret de Sétim deux espions, en leur disant : « Allez, examinez le pays, et Jéricho. » S'étant mis en route, ils arrivèrent dans la maison d'une courtisane, nommée Rahab, et ils y couchèrent.
Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim (note: Or Acacia Grove), saying, “Go, inspect the land, especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.
