Und das alles geschah also von dem HErrn, dass ihr Herz verstockt würde, mit Streit zu begegnen den Kindern Israel, auf dass sie verbannt würden und ihnen keine Gnade widerführe, sondern vertilgt würden, wie der HErr dem Mose geboten hatte.
For it was of the LORD to harden (note: Or stiffen or strengthen) their hearts to engage Israel in battle, so that they would be set apart for destruction and would receive no mercy, being annihilated as the LORD had commanded Moses.
