Ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, “Μὴ καὶ σὺ ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας εἶ; Ἐραύνησον καὶ ἴδε ὅτι ἐκ τῆς Γαλιλαίας προφήτης οὐκ ἐγείρεται.”
“Aren’t you also from Galilee (note: Some early manuscripts do not include John 7:53 through John 8:11.)?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
