ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ Φίλιππος· διακοσίων δηναρίων ἄρτοι οὐκ ἀρκοῦσιν αὐτοῖς ἵνα ἕκαστος αὐτῶν βραχύ τι λάβῃ.
Philip answered, “Two hundred denarii (note: A denarius was customarily a day’s wage for a laborer; see Matthew 20:2.) would not buy enough bread for each of them to have a small piece.”
