Sic enim Deus dilexit mundum, ut Filium suum unigenitum daret : ut omnis qui credit in eum, non pereat, sed habeat vitam æternam.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only (note: Or only begotten or unique; also in verse 18) Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
