Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people (note: Or, to slip away from thence in the midst of the people).
Jeremiah started to leave Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin to claim his portion there (note: Literally to divide from there) among the people.
