Cum autem ascendisset Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis ad terram nostram, diximus : Venite, et ingrediamur Jerusalem a facie exercitus Chaldæorum, et a facie exercitus Syriæ : et mansimus in Jerusalem.
So when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched into the land, we said: ‘Come, let us go into Jerusalem to escape the armies of the Chaldeans (note: That is, the Babylonians) and the Arameans.’ So we have remained in Jerusalem.”
