Yahweh me répondit : Quand Moïse et Samuel se tiendraient devant moi, mon âme ne se tournerait pas vers ce peuple ; chasse-les de devant ma face et qu'ils partent !
Then the LORD said to me: “Even if Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My heart would not go out to this people. Send them from My presence, and let them go!
Et s'ils te disent : " Où irons-nous ? " tu leur diras : Ainsi parle Yahweh : Celui qui est pour la mort, à la mort ; celui qui est pour l'épée, à l'épée ; celui qui est pour la famine, à la famine ; et celui qui est pour la captivité, à la captivité.
If they ask you, ‘Where shall we go?’ you are to tell them that this is what the LORD says: ‘Those destined for death, to death; those destined for the sword, to the sword (note: See Revelation 13:10.); those destined for famine, to famine; and those destined for captivity, to captivity.’
Et je susciterai contre eux quatre familles de fléaux, — oracle de Yahweh : l'épée pour tuer, les chiens pour déchirer, les oiseaux du ciel et les bêtes de la terre pour dévorer et pour détruire.
I will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the LORD: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the air and beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.
J'en ferai un objet d'horreur pour tous les royaumes de la terre, à cause de Manassé, fils d'Ezéchias, roi de Juda, pour ce qu'il a fait dans Jérusalem.
I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem.
Qui donc aura pitié de toi, Jérusalem ? qui se lamentera sur toi ? Qui se détournera de sa route pour s'informer de ton état ?
Who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?
Tu m'as repoussé, — oracle de Yahweh, pour te retirer en arrière ; et je vais étendre ma main sur toi pour te faire périr ; je suis las d'avoir pitié.
You have forsaken Me, declares the LORD. You have turned your back. So I will stretch out My hand against you and I will destroy you; I am weary of showing compassion.
Je les vannerai avec le van, aux portes du pays ; je priverai d'enfants, je ferai périr mon peuple ; ils ne reviennent pas de leurs voies.
I will scatter them with a winnowing fork at the gates of the land. I will bereave and destroy My people who have not turned from their ways.
Ses veuves seront plus nombreuses que le sable de la mer. Je leur amènerai, sur la mère du jeune guerrier, le dévastateur en plein midi ; je ferai fondre soudain sur elle l'angoisse et l'épouvante.
I will make their widows more numerous than the sand of the sea. I will bring a destroyer at noon against the mothers of young men. I will suddenly bring upon them anguish and dismay.
La mère des sept fils se sent défaillir, elle va rendre l'âme ; son soleil se couche pendant qu'il est jour encore ; elle est confuse, couverte de honte. Ceux qui resteront, je les livrerai à l'épée devant leurs ennemis, oracle de Yahweh.
The mother of seven will grow faint; she will breathe her last breath. Her sun will set while it is still day; she will be disgraced and humiliated. And the rest I will put to the sword in the presence of their enemies,” declares the LORD.
Malheur à moi, ô ma mère, parce que tu m'as enfanté, pour être un homme de dispute et de querelle pour tout le pays. Je n'ai rien prêté, et ils ne m'ont rien prêté, et tous me maudissent. —
Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife and conflict in all the land. I have neither lent nor borrowed, yet everyone curses me.
Yahweh dit : Oui, je t'affermirai pour ton bien ; certainement j'amènerai ton ennemi à te supplier, au temps du malheur et de la détresse.
The LORD said: “Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose; surely I will intercede with your enemy in your time of trouble, in your time of distress.
Le fer brisera-t-il le fer du nord et l'airain ?
Can anyone smash iron—iron from the north—or bronze?
Je livrerai tes biens et tes trésors au pillage, sans paiement, pour tous tes péchés et sur tout ton territoire ;
Your wealth and your treasures I will give up as plunder, without charge for all your sins within all your borders.
et je les ferai passer avec tes ennemis dans un pays que tu ne connais pas ; car un feu s'est allumé dans ma colère ; il brûlera sur vous.
Then I will enslave you to your enemies in a land (note: Some Hebrew manuscripts, LXX, and Syriac (see also Jeremiah 17:4); most Hebrew manuscripts Then I will cause your enemies to bring you into a land) you do not know, for My anger will kindle a fire that will burn against you.”
Tu le sais, Yahweh ! Souviens-toi de moi, prends soin de moi et venge-moi de mes persécuteurs ; ne m'enlève pas, dans ta patience envers eux, sache que c'est pour toi que je porte l'opprobre !
You understand, O LORD; remember me and attend to me. Avenge me against my persecutors. In Your patience, do not take me away. Know that I endure reproach for Your honor.
Dès que tes paroles se sont présentées, je les ai dévorées ; elles sont devenues ma joie, et l'allégresse de mon cœur ; car ton nom a été invoqué sur moi, Yahweh, Dieu des armées.
Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words became my joy and my heart’s delight. For I bear Your name, O LORD God of Hosts.
Je ne me suis point assis dans l'assemblée des rieurs, pour m'y livrer à la gaieté ; sous ta main, je me suis assis solitaire, car tu m'avais rempli de courroux.
I never sat with the band of revelers, nor did I celebrate with them. Because Your hand was on me, I sat alone, for You have filled me with indignation.
Pourquoi ma souffrance est-elle sans fin, et ma plaie douloureuse, rebelle à la guérison ? Serais-tu pour moi comme un ruisseau trompeur, comme des eaux sur lesquelles on ne peut compter ?
Why is my pain unending, and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You have indeed become like a mirage to me—water that is not there.
C'est pourquoi Yahweh parle ainsi : Si tu reviens vers moi, je te ferai revenir, pour que tu te tiennes devant ma face ; et si tu sépares ce qui est précieux de ce qui est vil, tu seras comme ma bouche ; ils reviendront vers toi, et ce n'est pas toi qui reviendras vers eux.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: “If you return, I will restore you; you will stand in My presence. And if you speak words that are noble instead of worthless, you will be My spokesman. It is they who must turn to you, but you must not turn to them.
Je ferai de toi, pour ce peuple, une forte muraille d'airain ; ils te feront la guerre, mais ils ne pourront rien sur toi ; car je serai avec toi pour te secourir et te délivrer, — oracle de Yahweh.
Then I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to save and deliver you, declares the LORD.
Je te délivrerai de la main des méchants, et je te rachèterai de la main des violents.
I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”
