Und der HErr sprach zu mir: Nimm vor dich eine große Tafel und schreib darauf mit Menschengriffel: Raubebald, Eilebeute!
Then the LORD said to me, “Take a large scroll and write on it with an ordinary (note: Hebrew with a man’s) stylus: Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Und ich nahm mir zwei treue Zeugen, den Priester Uria und Sacharja, den Sohn des Jeberechjas.
And I will appoint for Myself trustworthy witnesses—Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah.”
Und ich ging zu der Prophetin; die ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Und der HErr sprach zu mir: Nenne ihn Raubebald, Eilebeute!
And I had relations with the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. The LORD said to me, “Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Denn ehe der Knabe rufen kann: „Lieber Vater! liebe Mutter!”, soll die Macht aus Damaskus und die Ausbeute Samarias weggenommen werden durch den König von Assyrien.
For before the boy knows how to cry ‘Father’ or ‘Mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off by the king of Assyria.”
Weil dieses Volk verachtet das Wasser zu Siloah, das stille geht, und tröstet sich des Rezin und des Sohnes Remaljas,
“Because this people has rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and rejoiced in Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
siehe, so wird der HErr über sie kommen lassen starke und viele Wasser des Stromes, nämlich den König von Assyrien und alle seine Herrlichkeit, dass sie über alle ihre Bäche fahren und über alle Ufer gehen,
the Lord will surely bring against them the mighty floodwaters of the Euphrates (note: Hebrew the River)—the king of Assyria and all his pomp. It will overflow its channels and overrun its banks.
und werden einreißen in Juda und schwemmen und überher laufen, bis dass sie an den Hals reichen, und werden ihre Flügel ausbreiten, dass sie dein Land, o Immanuel, füllen, soweit es ist.
It will pour into Judah, swirling and sweeping over it, reaching up to the neck; its spreading streams will cover your entire land, O Immanuel (note: Immanuel means God with us.)!
Seid böse, ihr Völker, und gebt doch die Flucht! Höret's alle, die ihr in fernen Landen seid! Rüstet euch, und gebt doch die Flucht; rüstet euch und gebt doch die Flucht!
Huddle together (note: Or Raise the war cry or Be evil or Be broken), O peoples, and be shattered; pay attention, all you distant lands; prepare for battle, and be shattered; prepare for battle, and be shattered!
Beschließt einen Rat, und es werde nichts daraus; beredet euch, und es bestehe nicht; denn hier ist Immanuel.
Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted; state a proposal, but it will not happen. For God is with us (note: Hebrew Immanuel; see Matthew 1:23.).”
Denn so sprach der HErr zu mir, da seine Hand über mich kam und unterwies mich, dass ich nicht sollte wandeln auf dem Wege dieses Volkes, und sprach:
For this is what the LORD has spoken to me with a strong hand, instructing me not to walk in the way of this people:
Ihr sollt nicht sagen: Bund. Dies Volk redet von nichts denn vom Bund. Fürchtet ihr euch nicht also, wie sie tun, und lasset euch nicht grauen;
“Do not call conspiracy everything these people regard as conspiracy. Do not fear what they fear (note: Or Do not fear their threats); do not live in dread (note: LXX do not be shaken; cited in 1 Peter 3:14).
sondern heiliget den HErrn Zebaoth. Den lasset eure Furcht und Schrecken sein,
The LORD of Hosts is the One you shall regard as holy. Only He should be feared; only He should be dreaded.
so wird er ein Heiligtum sein, aber ein Stein des Anstoßes und ein Fels des Ärgernisses den beiden Häusern Israel, zum Strick und Fall den Bürgern zu Jerusalem,
And He will be a sanctuary—but to both houses of Israel a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense (note: Cited in Romans 9:33 and 1 Peter 2:8), to the dwellers of Jerusalem a trap and a snare.
dass ihrer viele sich daran stoßen, fallen, zerbrechen, verstrickt und gefangen werden.
Many will stumble over these; they will fall and be broken; they will be ensnared and captured.”
Binde zu das Zeugnis, versiegle das Gesetz meinen Jüngern.
Bind up the testimony and seal the law among my disciples.
Denn ich hoffe auf den HErrn, der sein Antlitz verborgen hat vor dem Hause Jakob; ich aber harre sein.
I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob. I will put my trust in Him (note: Or I will eagerly look for Him; cited in Hebrews 2:13).
Siehe, hier bin ich und die Kinder, die mir der HErr gegeben hat zum Zeichen und Wunder in Israel vom HErrn Zebaoth, der auf dem Berge Zion wohnt.
Here am I, and the children the LORD has given me (note: Cited in Hebrews 2:13) as signs and symbols in Israel from the LORD of Hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.
Wenn sie aber zu euch sagen: Ihr müsst die Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter fragen, die da flüstern und murmeln so sprecht: Soll nicht ein Volk seinen Gott fragen, oder soll man die Toten für die Lebendigen fragen?
When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists who whisper and mutter, shouldn’t a people consult their God instead? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Ja, nach dem Gesetz und Zeugnis! Werden sie das nicht sagen, so werden sie die Morgenröte nicht haben,
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.
sondern werden im Lande umhergehen, hart geschlagen und hungrig. Wenn sie aber Hunger leiden, werden sie zürnen und fluchen ihrem König und ihrem Gott
They will roam the land, dejected and hungry. When they are famished, they will become enraged; and looking upward, they will curse their king and their God.
und werden über sich gaffen und unter sich die Erde ansehen und nichts finden als Trübsal und Finsternis; denn sie sind im Dunkel der Angst und gehen irre im Finstern.
Then they will look to the earth and see only distress and darkness and the gloom of anguish. And they will be driven into utter darkness.
Doch es wird nicht dunkel bleiben über denen, die in Angst sind. Hat er zur vorigen Zeit gering gemacht das Land Sebulon und das Land Naphthali, so wird er es hernach zu Ehren bringen, den Weg am Meere, das Land jenseit des Jordans, der Heiden Galiläa.
