Pousse des cris de joie, stérile, qui n'enfantais pas ; éclate de joie et d'allégresse, toi qui n'as pas été en travail, car les fils de la délaissée sont plus nombreux que les fils de celle qui avait un époux, dit Yahweh.
“Shout for joy, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth in song and cry aloud, you who have never travailed; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband (note: Cited in Galatians 4:27),” says the LORD.
Elargis l'espace de la tente ; qu'on déploie les tentures de ta demeure ; ne les retiens pas, allonge tes cordages, et affermis tes pieux !
“Enlarge the site of your tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not hold back. Lengthen your ropes and drive your stakes in deep.
Car tu te répandras à droite et à gauche, et ta postérité prendra possession des nations, et peuplera les villes désertes.
For you will spread out to the right and left; your descendants will dispossess the nations and inhabit the desolate cities.
Ne crains point, car tu ne seras pas confondue ; n'aie point honte, car tu n'auras pas à rougir ; car tu oublieras la honte de ta jeunesse, et tu ne te souviendras plus de l'opprobre de ton veuvage.
Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be intimidated, for you will not be humiliated. For you will forget the shame of your youth and will remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
Car ton époux, c'est ton Créateur ; Yahweh des armées est son nom ; et ton Rédempteur est le Saint d'Israël ; il s'appelle le Dieu de toute la terre.
For your husband is your Maker—the LORD of Hosts is His name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.
Car comme une femme délaissée et affligée, Yahweh te rappelle comme une épouse de la jeunesse qui a été répudiée, dit ton Dieu.
For the LORD has called you back, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, like the rejected wife of one’s youth,” says your God.
Un instant, un moment, je t'ai abandonnée, mais avec une grande miséricorde je te rassemble.
“For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will bring you back.
Dans une effusion de ma colère, je t'ai caché un moment mon visage, mais avec un amour éternel j'ai compassion de toi, dit ton Rédempteur, Yahweh.
In a surge of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer.
Il en sera pour moi comme des eaux de Noé, lorsque je jurai que les eaux de Noé ne se répandraient plus sur la terre : ainsi j'ai juré de ne plus m'irriter contre toi, et de ne plus te menacer.
“For to Me this is like the days of Noah (note: Some manuscripts For this is like the waters of Noah), when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.
Quand les montagnes se retireraient, et que les collines seraient ébranlées, mon amour ne se retirerait pas de toi, et mon alliance de paix ne sera point ébranlée, dit celui qui a compassion de toi, Yahweh.
Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Malheureuse, battue de la tempête, sans consolation, voici que je coucherai tes pierres dans l'antimoine, et que je te fonderai sur des saphirs ;
“O afflicted city, lashed by storms, without solace, surely I will set your stones in antimony and lay your foundations with sapphires (note: Or lapis lazuli).
je ferai tes créneaux de rubis, tes portes d'escarboucles, et toute ton enceinte de pierres précieuses.
I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.
Tous tes fils seront disciples de Yahweh, tes fils jouiront d'une grande paix.
Then all your sons will be taught by the LORD (note: Cited in John 6:45), and great will be their prosperity.
Tu seras affermie sur la justice ; loin de toi l'angoisse, car tu n'as rien à redouter ; la frayeur, car elle n'approchera pas de toi.
In righteousness you will be established, far from oppression, for you will have no fear. Terror will be far removed, for it will not come near you.
Si une ligue se forme, cela ne viendra pas de moi ; qui s'est ligué contre toi ? Il tombera devant toi.
If anyone attacks you, it is not from Me; whoever assails you will fall before you.
Voici que moi, j'ai créé le forgeron, qui souffle sur les charbons ardents, et qui en retire l'arme qu'il doit travailler, et c'est moi qui ai créé le dévastateur pour la détruire.
Behold, I have created the craftsman who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its task; and I have created the destroyer to wreak havoc.
Toute arme forgée contre toi sera sans effet, et toute langue qui s'élèvera pour contester avec toi, tu la condamneras. Tel est l'héritage des fils de Yahweh ; telle est la justice qui leur viendra de moi — oracle de Yahweh.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.
