Rufe laut wie eine Posaune: Er kommt über das Haus des HErrn wie ein Adler, darum dass sie meinen Bund übertreten und von meinem Gesetz abtrünnig werden.
Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the LORD, because the people have transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
Dann werden sie zu mir schreien: Du bist mein Gott; wir, Israel, kennen dich!
Israel cries out to Me, “O our God, we know You!”
Israel verwirft das Gute; darum muss sie der Feind verfolgen.
But Israel has rejected good; an enemy will pursue him.
Sie machen Könige, aber ohne mich; sie setzen Fürsten, und ich darf es nicht wissen. Aus ihrem Silber und Gold machen sie Götzen, dass sie ja bald ausgerottet werden.
They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My approval. With their silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.
Dein Kalb, Samaria, verwirft er; mein Zorn ist über sie ergrimmt. Es kann nicht lange anstehen, sie müssen gestraft werden.
He has rejected your calf (note: Or calf idol; see 1 Kings 12:29.), O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence?
Denn das Kalb ist aus Israel hergekommen, und ein Werkmann hat's gemacht, und es kann ja kein Gott sein; darum soll das Kalb Samarias zerpulvert werden.
For this thing is from Israel—a craftsman made it, and it is not God. It will be broken to pieces, that calf of Samaria.
Denn sie säen Wind und werden Ungewitter einernten; ihre Saat soll nicht aufkommen und ihr Gewächs kein Mehl geben; und ob's geben würde, sollen's doch Fremde fressen.
For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. There is no standing grain; what sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should produce, the foreigners would swallow it up.
Israel wird aufgefressen; die Heiden gehen mit ihnen um wie mit einem unwerten Gefäß,
Israel is swallowed up! Now they are among the nations like a worthless vessel.
darum dass sie hinauf zum Assur laufen wie ein Wild in der Irre. Ephraim schenkt den Buhlern und gibt den Heiden Tribut.
For they have gone up to Assyria like a wild donkey on its own. Ephraim (note: That is, the northern kingdom of Israel; also in verse 11) has hired lovers.
Dieselben Heiden will ich nun über sie sammeln; sie sollen der Last des Königs der Fürsten bald müde werden.
Though they hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.
Denn Ephraim hat der Altäre viel gemacht zu sündigen; so sollen auch die Altäre ihm zur Sünde geraten.
Though Ephraim multiplied the altars for sin, they became his altars for sinning.
Wenn ich ihm gleich viel tausend Gebote meines Gesetzes schreibe, so wird's geachtet wie eine Fremde Lehre.
Though I wrote for them the great things of My law, they regarded them as something strange.
Ob sie schon viel opfern und Fleisch herbringen und essen's, so hat doch der HErr kein Gefallen an ihnen; sondern er will ihrer Missetat gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen; sie sollen wieder nach Ägypten kommen!
Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to Me, and though they eat the meat, the LORD does not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.
Israel vergisst seines Schöpfers und baut Paläste; so macht Juda viel feste Städte; aber ich will Feuer in seine Städte schicken, welches soll seine Häuser verzehren.
Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; Judah has multiplied its fortified cities. But I will send fire upon their cities, and it will consume their citadels.
