So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer (note: Heb. lethech) of barley:
So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver (note: 15 shekels is approximately 6 ounces or 171 grams of silver.) and a homer and a lethech of barley (note: Or a homer and a half of barley; that is, a total of approximately 9.36 bushels or 330 liters (probably about 436 pounds or 198 kilograms of barley); LXX a homer of barley and a wineskin full of wine).
