Gastfrei zu sein vergesset nicht; denn dadurch haben etliche ohne ihr Wissen Engel beherbergt.
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
Gedenket der Gebundenen als die Mitgebundenen derer, die in Trübsal leiden, als die ihr auch noch im Leibe lebet.
Remember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.
Die Ehe soll ehrlich gehalten werden bei allen und das Ehebett unbefleckt; die Hurer aber und die Ehebrecher wird Gott richten.
Marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
Der Wandel sei ohne Geiz; und lasst euch genügen an dem, was da ist. Denn er hat gesagt: „Ich will dich nicht verlassen noch versäumen”;
Keep you (note: Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5)r lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”

So we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me (note: Psalm 118:6 (see also LXX))?”
Gedenkt an eure Lehrer, die euch das Wort Gottes gesagt haben; ihr Ende schaut an und folgt ihrem Glauben nach.
Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christus gestern und heute und derselbe auch in Ewigkeit.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Lasset euch nicht mit mancherlei und fremden Lehren umtreiben; denn es ist ein köstlich Ding, dass das Herz fest werde, welches geschieht durch die Gnade, nicht durch Speisen, davon keinen Nutzen haben, die damit umgehen.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them.
Wir haben einen Altar, davon nicht Macht haben zu essen, die der Hütte pflegen.
We have an altar from which those who serve at the tabernacle have no right to eat.

Although the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp.
Darum hat auch Jesus, auf dass er heiligte das Volk durch sein eigen Blut, gelitten draußen vor dem Tor.
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to sanctify the people by His own blood.
So lasst uns nun zu ihm hinausgehen aus dem Lager und seine Schmach tragen.
Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore.
Denn wir haben hier keine bleibende Stadt, sondern die zukünftige suchen wir.
For here we do not have a permanent city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
So lasset uns nun opfern durch ihn das Lobopfer Gott allezeit, das ist die Frucht der Lippen, die seinen Namen bekennen.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.
Wohlzutun und mitzuteilen vergesset nicht; denn solche Opfer gefallen Gott wohl.
And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Gehorcht euren Lehrern und folgt ihnen; denn sie wachen über eure Seelen, als die da Rechenschaft dafür geben sollen; auf dass sie das mit Freuden tun und nicht mit Seufzen; denn das ist euch nicht gut.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. To this end, allow them to lead with joy and not with grief, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Betet für uns. Unser Trost ist der, dass wir ein gutes Gewissen haben und fleißigen uns, guten Wandel zu führen bei allen.
Pray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
Ich ermahne aber desto mehr, solches zu tun, auf dass ich umso schneller wieder zu euch komme.
And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you soon.
Der Gott aber des Friedens, der von den Toten ausgeführt hat den großen Hirten der Schafe durch das Blut des ewigen Testaments, unsren Herrn Jesus,
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
der mache euch fertig in allem guten Werk, zu tun seinen Willen, und schaffe in euch, was vor ihm gefällig ist, durch Jesum Christum; welchem sei Ehre von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us (note: BYZ and TR you) what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Ich ermahne euch aber, liebe Brüder, haltet das Wort der Ermahnung zugute; denn ich habe euch kurz geschrieben.
I urge you, brothers, to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have only written to you briefly.
Wisset, dass der Bruder Timotheus wieder frei ist; mit dem, so er bald kommt, will ich euch sehen.
Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
