looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you and many be defiled by it,
See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness (note: See Deuteronomy 29:18) springs up to cause trouble and defile many.
