Cumque vidisset Deus terram esse corruptam (omnis quippe caro corruperat viam suam super terram),
And God looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt; for all living creatures (note: Literally all flesh; similarly in verses 13, 17, and 19) on the earth had corrupted their ways.
