And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth (note: Heb. Sheth): For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
And Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth (note: Seth probably means granted or appointed.), saying, “God has granted me another seed in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”
