Καὶ ἦλθεν Ἰακὼβ εἰς Σαλήμ πόλιν Σικίμων, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν γῇ Χαναὰν, ὅτε ἦλθεν ἐκ τῆς Μεσοποταμίας Συρίας. καὶ παρενέβαλεν κατὰ πρόσωπον τῆς πόλεως.
After Jacob had come from Paddan-aram (note: That is, northwest Mesopotamia), he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in the land of Canaan, and he camped just outside the city.
