καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ἰακὼβ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Εἶδος θεοῦ· ἴδον γὰρ θεὸν πρόσωπον πρὸς πρόσωπον, καὶ ἐσώθη μου ἡ ψυχή.
So Jacob named the place Peniel (note: Peniel means the face of God.), saying, “Indeed, I have seen God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
