And he called it Shebah (note: That is, an oath): therefore the name of the city is Beer–sheba unto this day.
So he called it Shibah (note: Shibah can mean oath or seven.), and to this day the name of the city is Beersheba (note: Beersheba means well of seven or well of the oath.).
