And there shall be a sanctuary out of this, five hundred [reeds in length] by five hundred in breadth, a square round about; and [there shall be] a vacant space [beyond] this of fifty cubits round about.
Within this area there is to be a section for the sanctuary 500 cubits (note: 50 (long) cubits is approximately 87.5 feet or 26.7 meters.) square (note: 500 (long) cubits is approximately 875 feet or 266.7 meters.), with 50 cubits around it for open land.
